Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 12, 2026
Welcome to SF Updates ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring
you have a positive experience on our website and with our Chrome Extension.
This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our
website or use the SF Updates Chrome Extension.
1. Information Collection
We collect only the essential information needed to provide our services:
- Account Data: Basic profile information provided via third-party authentication
providers (such as LinkedIn) to create your user profile and personalize your experience.
- Usage Data: Information related to your saved preferences and interaction with our
content to synchronize your experience across devices.
- Newsletter Subscriptions: If you subscribe to the weekly newsletter we store your
email address, the first name you optionally provide, the sign-up date and the page you signed up on.
Each email carries a one-click unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes you from the send list
immediately. We record whether an email was opened to judge if the digest is useful; there is no
click tracking and no third-party pixel. Subscriber data is stored on our list tool
(Ohana360, hosted in the EU) and is never sold or shared.
- Source Suggestions: When you suggest a news source we store the site details you
enter, your name and email if you provide them, and your IP address for abuse prevention. They are
used only to review the suggestion.
- Extension Functionality: The SF Updates Chrome Extension uses specific permissions
strictly to facilitate authentication and synchronization with our platform. We do not track your
browsing history or collect data from other websites.
2. Use of Information
We use the collected information solely to:
- Authenticate your access and manage your account.
- Synchronize your saved content and preferences.
- Maintain and improve the performance and security of our services.
3. Third-Party Services
We utilize industry-standard, secure third-party infrastructure for authentication and data hosting.
These providers adhere to strict security standards to ensure your data remains protected.
4. Data Security
We implement robust technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against
unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
5. Your Rights
You maintain full control over your data. You may sign out or request the deletion of your account and
associated data at any time by contacting us.
6. Disclaimer
