Single LWC Preview in VS Code (GA)

The ability to preview a single Lightning Web Component in isolation is now generally available in Summer '26 via the Live Preview VS Code extension.

Where

Available in VS Code with the Salesforce Extension Pack and Live Preview extension installed. Works with any locally developed LWC.

How

Open a component in VS Code and activate Live Preview. The component renders in a browser panel or standalone browser window with real-time updates as you edit. No full org page reload is required to see changes.

Why

LWC development previously required deploying to a scratch org and navigating to a page containing the component to see changes. Isolated preview eliminates that round-trip and dramatically speeds up UI development iteration.
