Salesforce product and feature retirements
Salesforce retires products and features on a published schedule: end of sale (no new purchases), end of support (no fixes, feature still runs) and retirement (feature switched off). This calendar collects the dates that matter for admins, developers and architects in one table, newest deadline first, so nothing expires unnoticed in your org.

Frequently asked questions
Are Workflow Rules and Process Builder retired?
Support ended on December 31, 2025. Existing workflow rules and processes still run, but Salesforce no longer fixes bugs or takes support cases for them, and creating new ones has been blocked since Winter '23. Salesforce has not announced a date when they stop executing. Migrate them with the Migrate to Flow tool.
Is Salesforce retiring permissions on profiles?
No. The plan to remove permissions from profiles, originally scheduled for Spring '26, was cancelled in mid 2026 after customer feedback. Profiles keep their permissions; permission sets and permission set groups remain the recommended way to grant access.
What is the difference between end of sale, end of support and retirement?
End of sale means Salesforce stops selling the product to new customers but existing contracts continue. End of support means the feature still works but receives no fixes or support cases. Retirement means the feature is switched off or removed on the stated date, usually with a documented replacement.
Which Salesforce API versions are retiring next?
API versions 31.0 through 40.0 (Summer '14 to Summer '17) are deprecated from Summer '27 and retire in Summer '28. Versions 21.0 through 30.0 were retired in Summer '25. The full mapping is on the API versions page.
When does Salesforce Chat (Live Agent) stop working?
Legacy Chat, including Live Agent and Embedded Chat, was retired on February 14, 2026. The replacement is Messaging for In-App and Web, which Salesforce also calls Enhanced Chat.
