The Data Table screen component finally handles lookup fields the way you always wanted: display the human-readable record name instead of an 18-character record ID, with an optional link that takes the user directly to that record.

How
In the Data Table column configuration for a lookup field, enable the "Display record name" checkbox. Optionally enable the link setting to make the name clickable. No formula fields or URL workarounds needed.
Why
Previously, showing a readable name in a data table required creating a formula field or a separate URL column—extra objects, extra maintenance. This makes data tables usable for lookup fields out of the box.
