Some permissions silently enable others. Until now, those cascading changes only became visible after the fact in the Setup Audit Trail. Summer '26 surfaces them up front.
Where
The Enhanced Profile user interface, when updating user permissions, object permissions, or assigned apps.
How
When a change you make triggers dependent permission changes, Salesforce now lists them before you save. You see exactly which additional permissions will be enabled or disabled alongside your edit, and you can back out if the ripple effect is not what you intended.
Why
Unintended permission escalation is a real security risk. Reviewing dependencies before saving turns permission management from detective work in the audit trail into a proactive control, which auditors and security teams will appreciate.
