Approvals are one of the biggest context-switching pains in Salesforce. Summer '26 brings approval workflows natively into Slack, so requests get resolved where people already work.
Where
Available for orgs with the Salesforce for Slack integration connected. Users need the Connect Salesforce with Slack permission and Read access to the Approval Submission object. Requires Enterprise Edition or higher with Flow Approval Processes or Advanced Approvals.
How
When a record enters an approval process, the approver receives the request in Slack and can approve, reject, and add comments right there. Submitters get real-time notifications about the outcome. On the Salesforce side, the Approval Trace component on the record page keeps the complete history, so auditability is not sacrificed for speed.
Why
Approvals stall because approvers do not live in Salesforce. Meeting them in Slack shortens cycle times, keeps deals and requests moving, and preserves the audit trail that compliance teams need.
