Summer '26 brings RCS support to Marketing Cloud Next, upgrading mobile messaging from plain text SMS to fully branded, interactive conversations in the native messaging app.
Where
Available in Marketing Cloud Next (formerly Agentforce Marketing) as a new conversational messaging content type. Requires RCS-capable carrier and device support on the recipient side.
How
Create RCS campaigns in Marketing Cloud Next similarly to SMS campaigns. Design messages using rich cards, image carousels, and suggested reply buttons. Branding elements-logos, verified sender name, brand colors-are embedded directly in the message thread as displayed in the recipient's native messaging app.
Why
Standard SMS is text-only and unbranded. RCS delivers an app-like experience within the messaging inbox, increasing engagement and brand recognition without requiring customers to download a separate app.
